JULY 10,  2008  PROGRAM

Skippy Hoffman , from “Our Place” Custom Framing in DeFuniak Springs, gave a wonderful demonstration and instructions on custom framing your heirloom needlework.  She may have been teaching us, but we think rather than do it ourselves, we will just bring our things to her. She is an artist, teacher and framer.  We saw examples of her art work and were amazed at all her many talents.  Thank you, Skippy.  You can contact her at 850-892-3037.

“UGLY  BLOCK CONTEST”

The votes were counted, then I forgot one of the rules.  One person was awarded “wins” in TWO categories.  This is not allowed.  So, after going over the votes again, the mistake has been corrected.  The correct winners will be announced at the August meeting and their prizes given out. For now, only the “group” shots of the blocks are being published on the web site. The winners and their blocks will be added after the August meeting.

JUNE 12TH MEETING

Program = MoMoe’s Star
Two methods of completing the block were demonstrated by Mary Jo Melnick and Betty Davis. Mary Jo bought this pattern years ago and it has been demonstrated in our guild once before.  Many newer members expressed an interest and so it has been brought to the limelight once again.  Many thanks to Mary Jo and Betty for their hard work and for sharing this with all of us
.  See photos on the Photos page.

Click here for the Freezer Paper Method of making the blocks.

Contact Jean Lewis if you need the entire pattern.  (This includes the original method for making the blocks.)
